Royal Exhibition Building – Australia

Case Study
Royal Exhibition Building – Australia

The stunning Royal Exhibition Building was originally built for the Melbourne World Expo of 1880 and 1881.

In 2004 it became the first building in Australia to be granted UNESCO World Heritage Site Status.

IVG was engaged by Melbourne Museum to improve all elements of the operations of this vast historical building.

Over several years of continuous improvement, IVG introduced a new hirer strategy, revitalised branding and marketing, and improved staffing and facilities.

Within a 3 year period we were able to transform the business from a significant annual loss each year to a substantial and sustainable annual operating profit.

Hallmark events hosted during our tenure included the Centenary of Federation Celebrations, the Prime Minister’s Olympic Dinner, and the growth of the Annual International Flower and Garden Show.
